The Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) - Philippine Catholic Schools Standards for Basic Education (PCSS-BE) continues to update the PCSS document through a series of writeshops in 2024.

This effort is led by Fr. Alain P. Manalo, PCSS Chairperson, and Dr. Cynthia C. Arcadio, PCSS-BE TC Chairperson. Other PCSS-BE Technical Consultants are Fr. Elmer G. Dizon, Msgr. Michael Feliciano I. Veneracion, Fr. Thadeu Enrique N. Balongag, Dr. Amelia G. Ronquillo, Ms. Simonet A. Barrosa, Mr. Ringo M. Blanca, and Mr. Jose Ramelle E. Javier., Dr. Miguel Q. Rapatan and Sr. Ma. Nilda P. Hechanova, RA.

The objective of this program is the continuous updating of the PCSS for Basic Education, particularly in (a) drafting new benchmarks, rubrics, and potential sources of evidence on themes, and (b) improving the formulation of existing benchmarks and rubrics, along with identifying possible sources of evidence. PCSS-BE works hand in hand with PCSS-HE.

The series of writeshops started in January 2024 and the upcoming writeshops will be held in August and October 2024.

Through the dedication and collaborative efforts of its members and technical consultants, the CEAP-PCSS for Basic Education continues to evolve, setting a gold standard for Catholic education in the Philippines.
